GAC has a number of intelligent vehicle manufacturing bases, and GAC’s PHEV Intelligent Eco-Factory is the world’s first lighthouse factory for new energy vehicles. Inside the factory, a flexible production line is used, which is able to support the mixed production of a variety of different vehicle models, and the fastest new vehicle can be rolled off the production line every 53 seconds. The plant is equipped with stamping workshop, welding workshop, painting workshop and final assembly workshop. The high-precision equipment in the stamping shop can accurately stamp high-strength steel into body coverings to ensure the high precision of vehicle components; the welding shop is equipped with a large number of intelligent robots, which freely utilize their robotic arms to carry out laser and arc welding of vehicle components, which not only improves the efficiency of the workshop’s operations, but also ensures the firmness of the body frame; in response to the global call for environmental protection, GAC uses environmentally friendly water-based paints in the paint shop and utilizes an automated spraying process for production operations;GAC has also introduced a number of big data AI systems as well as an intelligent logistics system, capable of accurately assembling engines, automotive interiors, and chassis components into vehicles, and supervising all aspects of production to ensure that every PHEV vehicle rolls off the production line to meet high quality standards. Overseas, GAC’s Thailand plant adopts the same homologous technical standards as the domestic lighthouse plant and integrates 30 global leading processes to provide a solid backing for the production of vehicles;The completion of GAC’s Kuala Lumpur plant in Malaysia in 2025 marks a new stage in GAC’s overseas localized production. The CKD plant in Malaysia adopts the SKD production model, enabling GAC to gradually localize the supply of core automotive components.
GAC’s R&D network layout covers many regions around the world, forming a multi-dimensional and multi-level R&D system. GAC Headquarters Research Institute in Guangzhou is mainly positioned for the R&D of global core technologies and the decision-making of coordinated technology strategies. In 2022, GAC established the GAC European R&D Center in Milan, Italy, which is led by Stephane Janin, former head of Renault Concept Vehicles, and is mainly responsible for the forward-looking styling design of GAC’s concept cars and pre-production models, and the optimized tuning of chassis and NVH for high-end models, among other functions. Trumpchi E9 PHEV is a medium-large MPV, the front face of the vehicle is the design of the wake-up lion shape, large-size straight waterfall grille with full LED headlamps group, the bottom of the front side of the chrome decoration enhances the visual impact, so that the vehicle’s overall style is more business-oriented. The flat roofline and outwardly protruding wheelbrow design make the vehicle’s side more robust, and the vehicle’s rear has a combination of penetrating taillights with a rear spoiler and high-mounted brake lights to enhance the visual hierarchy of the rear. Inside the vehicle is a symmetrical center console, the overall layout is clear, three-spoke steering wheel, 12.3-inch LCD instrumentation, 14.6-inch center screen, 12.3-inch passenger entertainment screen to form a “four-screen linkage” of the intelligent cockpit. The seats are wrapped in leather+tumbled leather, the first row of seats are equipped with a driving memory function, the second row is a semi-aniline super zero gravity seat, supporting 16 adjustment modes, reducing the fatigue of long-distance driving, and the third row has a huge amount of seating space while it can be adjusted freely and flexibly to expand the capacity of the luggage compartment. The GAC Trumpchi E9 PHEV is powered by a 15.5kWh 4C supercharged cartridge battery, which can take the charge from 30% to 80% in just 8 minutes of charging time, with a pure electric range of 106km at WLTC and a combined range of up to 983km. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system with strong power, a 100km acceleration time of 8.8 seconds, and a top speed of up to 175km/h. The model also features a number of user-friendly details, including: hot and cold insulated water cup holders, a 220V power supply with a separate small screen, and healthy air conditioning with no wind sensation.
