CHERY PHEV Model: Global Intelligent Technology, Defining the New Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle

CHERY AUTO has several modern vehicle production and manufacturing bases in China. Taking the Wuhu plant in China as an example, the plant is equipped with corresponding workshops for vehicle production, stamping, welding, painting, general assembly, etc. The workshops are equipped with advanced production equipments and technologies, which can realize high-intensity automated production and refined management. For example, the welding workshop adopts automated robot welding, which can ensure the precision and strength of body welding; the painting workshop adopts environmentally friendly materials, which improves the anticorrosive performance of the body and reduces the pollution to the environment at the same time; and the intelligent logistic transfer system in the assembly workshop as well as the high-precision mounting technology enables every car on the production line to meet the high quality standard. In addition to the production process, the base is also equipped with professional testing equipment and vehicle quality testing process to ensure the reliability and stability of the vehicle’s powertrain, battery system, vehicle safety performance and other aspects. Currently, the Wuhu plant is one of the largest passenger car production bases in Asia, with an annual production capacity of one million vehicles. Overseas, CHERY Automobile has also built its own vehicle production bases, the factory in Brazil, the annual production capacity can reach the production of more than 50,000 units of PHEV models; Thailand’s KD plant to produce vehicles can radiate the entire ASEAN market. CHERY Auto has also adapted its vehicles locally according to overseas local market conditions and policy requirements, for example, the European version of the vehicle can meet the requirements of Euro 7 emission; the Middle East version of the vehicle has been strengthened in terms of the vehicle’s heat dissipation system, which all put forward higher requirements for the production of CHERY Auto’s overseas factories.

CHERY Auto has set up several R&D centers around the world, including North America, Europe, and Shanghai, integrating international advanced technologies and talents to form a global R&D system. Core technical benefits of the CHERY PHEV model include:

  1. Ultra-performance hybrid technology: CHERY vehicles are equipped with the Kunpeng ultra-performance hybrid technology, which is the core competence of the CHERY PHEV models, and which utilizes a combination of an original dual-motor drive plus a 3-speed DHT structure. The dual-motor drive system realizes the vehicle’s efficient power output and energy recovery; the 3-speed DHT transmission enables the vehicle’s engine to maintain efficient operation in a wider speed range, and compared with traditional systems, this innovative technology can better balance power and fuel consumption, with a transmission efficiency of 97.6%.
  2. High-efficiency engine technology: CHERY Auto PHEV models use the fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI engine, which has a thermal efficiency of 44.5%. This engine adopts advanced technologies such as Miller Cycle, Deep Atkinson Cycle, 350Bar high-pressure direct injection, and low-pressure EGR, which makes it possible to ensure the power output of the vehicle during driving while substantially improving the fuel economy. The engine has a maximum power of 115kw and a maximum torque of 220N-m, which, when combined with its Kunpeng Ultra Performance E-hybrid technology, better optimizes the vehicle’s power performance.
  3. Battery and energy management: CHERY uses high energy density lithium ternary batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries, paired with BMS technology that can monitor the battery’s voltage, temperature, charging and discharging status parameters, etc., in real time, and through the vehicle’s active equalization technology to ensure the battery’s condition, thus prolonging the life of the vehicle’s batteries. For the batteries used, CHERY Auto has also carried out stringent safety tests on them, including extrusion, high temperature, pinprick, etc., to ensure the safety of the batteries in a variety of extreme situations.
  4. Intelligent energy management system: CHERY vehicles are equipped with an intelligent energy management system, which is capable of monitoring the status of the vehicle in real time and automatically optimizing the vehicle’s power output and energy recovery through the analysis of big data and intelligent algorithms. For example, in the process of driving, the vehicle system will adjust the strategy in advance to increase the intensity of energy recovery when it detects a long downhill section ahead according to the road conditions; when users are traveling long distances, the system will adjust the performance of the engine according to the actual situation, so that the vehicle will always maintain the best state of energy consumption. Users can also control the vehicle through the vehicle’s center control screen or cell phone APP, intelligently switching between pure electric, hybrid or economic modes to meet the driving needs of different users.

The FULWIN T10 is a premium SUV from CHERY, featuring a parametric diamond-cut front fascia with an illuminated logo and LED light strips. The headlamps adopt a split structure, and the front lip adopts a carbon fiber textured panel and two side deflector slots to show the fusion of technological sense and power aesthetics.The side of the vehicle body adopts a floating roof plus hidden door handles, and the wind resistance coefficient of the vehicle can be reduced to 0.32Cd when driving, and the D-pillar of the vehicle can be decorated with a gradient dot matrix according to demand. The vehicle’s rear cross-light combination contains 128 LED light sources, which can support three dynamic lighting modes. The interior of the vehicle is a 3-screen linkage model, with 12.3-inch full LCD gauges for AR live navigation; a 15.6-inch center control screen equipped with a Qualcomm 8295 chip; and a 10.8-inch passenger entertainment screen that can be linked by a separate Bluetooth linkage, which won’t affect the main driver. The seats of FULWIN T10 are all wrapped in NAPPA leather, with 16-way power adjustment for the main driver and a one-touch zero-gravity mode for the passenger’s “Queen’s Seat”. FULWIN T10 is equipped with the Kunpeng DHT super hybrid system, which has a pure electric range of 120km and a combined range of 1,300km. The vehicle’s intelligent four-wheel-drive system adopts BorgWarner’s sixth-generation torque sensor, which can support eight driving modes, including sand, snow and mud, to fully meet the user’s actual driving needs.
