The stamping workshop in the factory adopts domestic advanced stamping technology and equipment, which can ensure the precision and quality of the body covering parts in the operation process; the welding workshop adopts fully automated robots for automated welding, and the automation rate of welding is as high as 99.5%, which not only improves the welding precision and efficiency, but also ensures the strength and stability of the body structure. For new energy vehicles, the plant has also introduced a split-isolated battery cooling system, which can protect the safety of the battery from the inside to the outside, and the combination of this system and Dongfeng’s self-research and design of the special skeleton for pure electric vehicles can take into account the rigidity and light weight of the vehicle body. Dong Feng car has introduced digital twin technology in its vehicle manufacturing plants, which can increase the efficiency of in-house virtual commissioning of vehicles by 60%. These intelligent manufacturing plants adopt stringent quality standards and green, low-carbon production methods, with 100% photovoltaic coverage and zero wastewater discharge. Dongfeng’s overseas production plants include the Thailand plant and the Pakistan KD plant, which are capable of realizing an annual production capacity of more than 50,000 units.
At present, Dongfeng Motor tightly grasps the pulse of the times, strengthens its independent core technology and innovation capability, and establishes a perfect global R&D system. The test center in Shiyan, China has the largest new energy test site in Asia, which can simulate extreme environments ranging from -40℃ to 60℃, and is also equipped with a 48km comprehensive test track for professional testing of vehicle performance. The battery laboratory of the test center has more than 200 safety tests, especially the battery’s pin prick test pass rate has reached 100%. Dongfeng Motor’s overseas R&D organizations are mainly located in Sweden and the European region, especially its first overseas R&D base established after its cooperation with Sweden’s T Engineering AB and the acquisition of equity, which is mainly responsible for R&D in the fields of internal combustion engines for new energy vehicles, vehicle transmission technology and chassis control.

Dongfeng SKY 01 EV is a pure electric SUV, its front styling reference is diamond cut design, with dynamic light-emitting logo, single side 168 LED light source irradiation distance of up to 450 meters, the front using aerodynamics using active air intake grille and hidden wipers, which can make the vehicle driving wind resistance coefficient reduced to 0.235Cd. The two-tone bodywork and frameless doors on the sides, plus adjustable electronically controlled color-changing glass add to the vehicle’s technological feel. At the rear, the Quantum Through Tail Lights contain 3D laser-engraved textures that support running water steering and dynamic warnings. There is also an active rear wing at the rear, which automatically raises when the vehicle is traveling at speeds above 80km/h and is capable of reducing lift by 12%. Inside the vehicle is a three-body wrap-around screen, with a 16.3-inch center control screen, a 12.8-inch passenger entertainment screen, and 10.2-inch full LCD gauges for intelligent interactive functions. Zero-gravity seats can support 16-way electric adjustment function, plus 8-point massage, ventilation, heating function enables users to enjoy a comfortable experience in long-distance journey; the vehicle comes with a large storage space, 120L in the front trunk and 650L in the trunk, which can be increased to 1850L after the seats are put down to fully meet the demand for long-distance storage. The SKY 01 EV uses a dual-motor four-wheel drive configuration with a combined output of 430kW/770N-m, accelerating to zero 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and 80-120km/h in just 1.8 seconds. The vehicle’s CLTC range is 810km, and the built-in 800V high-voltage platform enables the vehicle to go from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. The combination of intelligent driving and digital ecology allows the driver to experience cutting-edge driving and interaction technology.
Dongfeng automobile is actively expanding overseas markets. At present, Dongfeng Motor’s pure electric models have entered more than 30 countries and regions including Norway and Holland in Europe; Thailand and Malaysia in Southeast Asia; and Chile and Brazil in South America, etc. It has also obtained such honors as the EU ECE R100 certification, the five-star certification of Australia’s ANCAP, and the Gulf GCC certification.
